Overview

Mike Shipman has focused his practice on defense litigation and has been involved in a broad range of complex litigation for over 40 years.  His practice includes general tort liability, products liability, construction defect and personal injury liability, insurance coverage and litigation, bad faith, employer liability, trucking and automobile liability, toxic tort liability, and premises liability.

Mike began his legal career with the Collin County Criminal District Attorney's Office where he gained significant trial experience as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney.  He left the Criminal District Attorney's Office as chief felony prosecutor in the 199th District Court.  Mike currently serves as the President of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, a professional organization of civil trail attorneys dedicated to promoting excellence in its members, fairness in the judicial system, and preserving the right to jury trail for all citizens.

Mike holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, given by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, and was recognized in the 2022 edition of Best Lawyers in America® for Insurance Law and Personal Injury Litigation.  He is a frequent speaker to various organizations on topics related to all types of litigation.
