BJ Jones is a member of the firm’s Construction Litigation practice group. BJ represents general contractors and subcontractors against allegations of defective construction, breach of contract, and related torts. He has gained extensive trial experience in the past ten years, and has achieved favorable verdicts in over fifty cases. BJ joined Fletcher Farley Shipman & Salinas in 2011.

BJ attended Texas Tech University School of Law where he was a member of the National Order of the Barristers. He also participated in 4 National Moot Court Competitions and was a member of the Student Supreme Court. He received his undergraduate degree from McMurry University, where he earned a BA in Political Sciences.

Representative Experience:

Water intrusion – represented painting subcontractor against allegations of defective workmanship at $60M multi-family housing complex.

Foundation defect – resolved suit for breach of contract and tort claims arising from work performed on upscale home by concrete company.

Products liability – handled fire damage claims against national hair dryer and small appliance manufacturer in cases across Texas.

Product defect – successfully represented international tile manufacturer at trial against homeowners’ breach of contract, Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and breach of warranty lawsuit.
